Community

Description – Jesse Bethel High School serves the students who are within the northeastern regions of the City of Vallejo.  The community is rich in diversity and representative in its teaching staff. 

Location – Located east of I-80 on the corner of Redwood Street and Ascot Parkway.

Population – Greater Vallejo has a population of 120,000.

School

Description – Jesse Bethel High School is a medium size high school located in the city of Vallejo at the north end of the San Francisco Bay.  It is one of the three comprehensive high schools in the city of Vallejo and receives students primarily from two of the middle schools.  We celebrate our academic achievement and ethnic diversity.  Our multi-cultural student body of approximately 1,500 is supported by 60 multicultural faculty, a caring counseling staff, and numerous support services including a state-of-the-art Instructional Media Center (IMC) Library and a newly established Career Center. 

Enrollment – There will be approximately 1,500 students.

Accreditation – Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Faculty/Staff – 60 “certificated” staff members, 3 full-time counselors, 1 part-time psychologist, 1 part-time speech pathologist, 1 part-time school nurse, 4 administrators and 40+ classified staff members.

Grading System – Colleges “recommending grade” in most courses in a “B” or better.  A minimum passing grade is a “D”.  Weighted grade points are granted for A, B, or C Grades received in 11th and 12th grade Honors (HP) or Advanced Placement (AP) classes.
