How Can I Help My Child Succeed? Tips For Parents:

1. Keep in contact with your student's teachers. If teacher attempts to contact you, get back to them. The more we can work together, the more we can support students.

2. Have a quiet place for homework set up in your home and put learning at the top of priorities, requiring that homework be done before completion of other activities.

3. Insist that your child get substantial amounts of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast. Sleepy and hungry students are difficult to teach.

4. Students should read at home, whatever th text may be. Reading is essential to success in many subjects. If a student says he/she has no homework, ask what outside reading book he/she is currently reading for SSR time. An SSR book could be used as one of the book report competancy requirements; six book reports or more are required each school year.
