. Peter Cirelli . English Department . General Information

Peter Cirelli PhotoI grew up on the Mid-Peninsula which is half way between San Francisco and San Jose off Highway 101. My actual house was located in the hills above Redwood City, California, in an unincorporated area about one half mile from Emerald Lake.
I graduated from San Carlos High School, San Carlos, California, in 1967.

I received my Associate in Arts (B.S.) from Canada College which was a brand new college located in the same hills of Redwood City, California, where I grew up. I received my Bachlor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Santa Clara in 1971. After that, I entered the graduate School of Law at the University of Santa Clara but switched out in the middle of my second year. From Law School, I entered the graduate teaching program at San Jose State University where I received my teacher training and, eventually, my teaching credential. I hold a Life Credential for teaching in the secondary level.

What I most liek about teaching is that I am blessed to spend my days with young people who are full of ideas and enthusiasm, and I am able to teach my students something that they can use everyday for the rest of their lives, not only in an educational or academic skills sense but also in the realm of meeting the thinking/problem-solving challenges of real life.
