Lidia Malchiodi
Objective: Acquire work experience that will allow me to earn a good letter of recommendation and funds to pay for college. Current Employment: F/T High School Student, Jesse Bethel H. S., Vallejo City Unified School District Skills/Abilities:
(Please Note: 1) Avoid full sentences or a narrative style in your resume 2) Be specific about your knowledge and abilities, as this sample gives the last letter grade in English. 3) Don't exaggerate. Since she didn't get an "A" in English, she didn't use the word "Excellent". 4) Don't list the things that you are not so great at. If you aren't good at writing, then don't suggest you have good communication skills.) Experience:

Personal Characteristics:
[Please Note: 1) Physical Characteristics are NOT Personal Characteristics; 2) Avoid describing yourself as "Nice", "Kind" -- such descriptions are decided by others. Instead, keep to the sort of adjectives that translate into a good worker to a potential employer. For example, instead of saying that you are "nice" say that you are "well-mannered". That latter term assures the employer that you won't be chewing gum in the faces of customers and know how to say "Please" and "Thank You". An adjective like "Self-Motivated" says that you can be given a job to do and trusted to be left alone to do it. Get together with your neighbor to help with different adjectives or check the classroom thesaurus.] Some Clubs, Associations & After-School Activities:
(Please Note: When you use some sort of logical order (e.g. alphabetical) you demonstrate/prove to your prospective employer that you are well-organized without having to say so. When you have no spelling errors, you prove to your employer that you care about doing things right! If you say that one of your after-school activities is to get tutoring help, then make it clear that's what your doing. It shows that you are not available those days and that you care enough about your grades to get help when you need it. You can be specific about the subject. But if you need tutoring in all subjects, then it would be best not to list the subjects you're behind in.) Hobbies:

Contact Information: (Please Note: 1) The above "Contact Information" is a graphic that protects you from spammers and spidering. You must do the same for yourself and all your references, e.g. produce a graphic with Fireworks that provides the text of any contact information. This is particularly necessary if providing a home address and phone number. Protect your support system from unwanted spam &/or spidering of their personal information and your supporters will be happy.)
