BACKGROUND

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) sent a comittee to visit our school in March 2003. WASC is resposible for the school accreditation and occurs on a cycle every one to six years (six being the highest). In March, 2003, the WASC committee looked at our instructional program, visited classrooms, interviewed teachers, students and staff. After this lengthy examination, our very first WASC review resulted in a 3-year accreditation with a 3-year review required in Spring of 2006.

In preparation for our three-year review, we sought parental and student support.

3-Year Report 2006

Preparations for the report included opinion surveys of teachers, parents and students, and statistical data that report on school demographics and academic achievement. Much demographic and student performance data is gathered from the California Department of Education which requires that school districts maintain and report specific information.

The report to WASC was finished in April and is available for review online here.

The WASC visitation committee visited our school the week of April 23, 2006, and submitted its report which is available for reading by our visitors.
