| What is the Gay-Straight Alliance Club?
The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a student-run club, which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation, and work to end homophobia. The GSA functions as a support group and provides safety and confidentiality to students who are struggling with their identity as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning. In addition to support, the GSA works on educating themselves and the broader school community about sexual orientation and gender identity issues.
Jesse Bethel High School GSA membership is open to all students and faculty members who are interested in the purpose of this club provided that they abide by the California Student Safety and Violence Prevention Act of 2000 and maintain the club environment free of harassment.
